Liu Shijin: Incentives in China Must Go Hand in Hand with Reforms
Liu Shijin, a former central bank advisor, stated that China's stimulus efforts may come with a cost and should be conducted alongside reforms to ensure sustainable economic growth. The Chinese media outlet Yicai reported Liu's comments from a forum on Tuesday, where he said, "There may be a cost to the stimulus, and we should combine the stimulus with reforms." Liu emphasized that funds should be used to improve areas critical for long-term economic development. He also noted that due to a significant public health service gap, the country must prioritize improving basic healthcare services for its 300 million internal migrant workers.
