Yılmaz: Turkey and the EU Should Develop Stronger Cooperation in Security, Migration Management, Economy, and Climate Change
Forex - Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated in a meeting with the Head of the EU Delegation to Turkey, Ambassador Thomas Ossowski, that "Turkey and the EU should develop stronger cooperation in areas such as security, migration management, economy, and climate change."
Yılmaz made the statement on the social media platform X as follows:
"We welcomed the Head of the EU Delegation to Turkey, Ambassador Thomas Ossowski, at the Presidential Complex. In our meeting, we addressed regional and global issues as well as Turkey-EU relations and our strategic priority, which is the perspective of membership.
We believe that in a time of increasing regional crises and global uncertainties, Turkey and the EU need to strengthen their cooperation in security, migration management, economy, and climate change.
To revitalize and expand Turkey-EU relations into new areas, it is essential to clearly support our membership process, modernize the Customs Union, establish visa liberalization, and activate structural dialogue mechanisms.
Turkey’s membership will provide significant benefits not just for Turkey and the EU, but also for our region, the international system, and global peace, as well as enhance the EU's global influence."
