BİM Opens Its 4th Logistics Center in Marrakech, Morocco
Foreks - BİM (IS:BIMAS), which started operations in 2009 by opening its first store in Morocco, is continuing its investments in the region without slowing down. With 770 stores and logistics centers in Morocco, BİM provides employment for approximately 5,000 people and has opened its fourth logistics center in the country, located in Marrakech. The opening ceremony was attended by Morocco's Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, Turkey’s Ambassador to Morocco, Mustafa İlker Kılıç, BİM CEO Haluk Dortluoğlu, and BİM officials from Morocco.
As one of the key players in the discount retail market in Morocco, BİM has added another investment to its projects in the region. The company opened its fourth logistics center in Marrakech. As part of its investment plan, BİM aims to open three more logistics centers in the country by 2027, increasing the total number of logistics centers to seven and providing more employment opportunities. These investments by BİM are seen as a significant step in the company's expansion in the country.
Moroccan Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, who attended the opening ceremony, stated: “The newly opened logistics center demonstrates BİM’s success and strategic determination in its expansion in Morocco. The new center will enhance the use of local resources while contributing to strengthening competition in the distribution sector. This project will also support local socio-economic development by providing direct and indirect employment for 1,000 people in the region.”
“With our Marrakech logistics center, we will contribute to employment and the growth of the local economy in the region,” said BİM CEO Haluk Dortluoğlu during the opening ceremony. He pointed out that this new investment, which is BİM's fourth logistics center in Morocco, reflects their strong commitment to the country. Dortluoğlu continued: “Morocco, with its proximity to Europe, culture, diversified economy, developing infrastructure, and dynamic population, assures us to continue investing here. The commissioning of the new logistics center not only supports the economic dynamics of the region but also reflects our commitment to efficiently meet the increasing needs of our consumers. With our Marrakech logistics center, we will contribute to employment and the growth of the local economy.”
The logistics center, constructed on an area of 16,000 square meters, was launched to meet the logistics needs of Central and Southern Morocco, where Marrakech is located. The new logistics center will facilitate supply and distribution operations, reduce delivery times and logistics costs, and enhance service quality for consumers. Additionally, the new logistics center will provide direct and indirect employment opportunities for approximately 1,000 people.
With its logistics center investment, BİM reaffirms its key role in local and regional economic development, continuing to expand its presence in Morocco and respond to the increasing expectations of consumers.
